Don’t date your bodyguard. It was the one rule he had to break.

Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible — the twenty-two-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. By noon, lunch can turn into a mob of screaming fans. By two, his face is all over the internet. Born into one of the most famous families in the country, his celebrity status began at birth.

He is certified American royalty.

When he’s assigned a new 24/7 bodyguard, he comes face-to-face with the worst case scenario: being attached to the tattooed, MMA-trained, Yale graduate who’s known for “going rogue” in the security team — and who fills 1/3 of Maximoff’s sexual fantasies.

Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene has one job: protect Maximoff Hale. Flirting, dating, and hot sex falls far, far out of the boundary of his bodyguard duties and into “termination” territory. But when feelings surface, protecting the sexy-as-sin, stubborn celebrity becomes increasingly complicated.

Together, boundaries blur, and being exposed could mean catastrophic consequences for both.

Maximoff Hale POV

“Number twelve.” I nod to the list.

He eyes me for a long moment before focusing on the paper. “It says that you’re not used to letting other people behind the wheel.” It actually says I always drive.

I glance at him once, then back to the road. “I didn’t realize that you can’t read.” I switch lanes.

I can almost feel his smile stretch. “Always a precious smartass.” I hear him flip a page. “You have a typo on number thirty-two.”

He called me precious. What the fuck does that even mean? Precious. I have to let it go, but the word scrolls across my gaze like a tickertape banner. “What typo?”

“You forgot a comma.”

I let out an irritated groan. “This isn’t a term paper. Don’t critique my grammar.”

Farrow kicks up one of his shoes on my seat. Balancing his forearm on his knee. Then he bites the staple off and spits it out. I tense and try to watch him and the road simultaneously.

He has a very particular way he moves his hands. They shift with meticulousness and care. A sort of accuracy that belongs to surgeons and someone equipped to disassemble and reassemble a gun blindfolded.

I’ve imagined those hands on me too many times to count. Don’t fucking restart now. I’m trying not to, but having him this close, the NC-17 fantasies vie to breach the surface. Heat blankets my skin and tries to grip my cock.

Thumbing through the papers, Farrow tells me, “You’re about to miss our exit.”

“Shit.”

Blog Tour: Until it Fades by K.A. Tucker + Giveaway!

ABOUT UNTIL IT FADES:
Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania (population three thousand outside of tourist season).

And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed date, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has rescued: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.

Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works. For a time.

But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. There’s an immediate connection, and it’s more electric than the bond of two people who endured a traumatic event. It’s something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something she is afraid to trust.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine...before the spark fades?

“Young, single mom saves life of hockey star and celebrity son and then wins his heart? It sounds like a fairy tale.”

When I read a KA Tucker book, I expect one of two things. Angst or suspense. This book was different for her. It was a sweet, slow burn romance with a lot of heart. The pace was a bit slower than I would have liked, but overall I enjoyed the story a lot!

Catherine Wright is a 24 year old single mother with a past. Because of that past, she keeps to herself. She has her five year old daughter, a waitressing job that keeps them fed, and that’s enough for her. One night, she witnesses a car accident and stops to help. She doesn’t know it at the time, but she saves a famous man’s life. Catherine does not want the attention or the accolades this brings. She lives in a small town and she’s had her fair share of ‘attention’ in the past. Thanks, but no thanks. So she asks her friend on the police force not to share her name with the public. And that works. For a while.

Brett Madden is a big time hockey player. After the accident that took his friends life, he’s trying to heal and part of that is meeting and thanking the person who saved his life. When he meets Catherine, he is blown away by her beauty and strength. He admires her. Someone with a child and so much to lose risked her life for him. He feels a connection with her he can’t explain.

The relationship between Catherine and Brett was pretty non-existent for a lot of the book. It started as a friendship and very slowly grew into much more. That’s okay with me, though. I don't mind when romance sometimes takes a bit of a back seat to the story. I feel like it worked with this book. With Catherine’s past, it made sense. I liked seeing into her past, why she was the way she was, and seeing her growth.

Until it Fades is a swoony, sweet, slow building Cindrealla-type romance. I loved both Catherine and Brett, the supporting characters, and all the interactions with Catherine’s adorable daughter. If you’re looking for a charming, small town romance, this is one I would recommend!

Girl off the Grid by Jillian Dodd & Kenzie Harp

From USA Today bestselling author, Jillian Dodd, and her daughter, Kenzie Harp, comes a travel romance that will take you on the adventure of a lifetime.

NYC fashion blogger, Camille Caldwell, gets offered a dream job by her favorite magazine. They’re going to send her on an all-expenses paid eco-trip to Costa Rica. She doesn’t know what that means, but she assumes she’ll wear fabulous clothes, sip Piña Coladas on the beach, and have her photo taken “out in nature.” Really, the hardest part of the assignment will be giving up social media while she’s gone.
Going off social media is no big deal for London-based wildlife photographer, Adam Lloyd. The only reason he even has an account is to share his photos with the world. He’s thrilled when an international publication wants to hire him, until he finds out it’s a fashion magazine. He decides to take the job anyway—after all, it will be great for his portfolio. But the minute he sees Camille, he knows it was a mistake. She has too much luggage, is too high maintenance, and way too pretty.
When they meet, their feelings are mutual—they hate each other. Can these two stop fighting long enough to complete their assignment? Will Camille give up and go home when she discovers there’s nowhere to plug in her hair straightener?
Or will they both realize that sometimes you have to go off the grid to find yourself?
Making a difference:
Part of our goal in writing this book is to make a difference. 10% of our profits (20% during release week) from this book will be donated to the Sea Turtle Conservatory. It is the oldest sea turtle research and conservation group. It was founded in 1959 by Dr. Archie Carr. Their headquarters are in Florida, but they have programs worldwide that work to conserve sea turtle populations through education, research, advocacy, and protection of natural habitats. They also have a research station in Tortuguero, Costa Rica, which was one of the places visited in the book. For more information on the Sea Turtle Conservatory, click here.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Girl off the Grid was a fantastic YA book about finding adventure, finding love, and most importantly- finding yourself.

Camille Caldwell is only 18, but she’s already achieved lots. She has a makeup/fashion blog on YouTube that is a huge success and gets a call from one of her favorite magazines, Fashion Forward, for a job. She has the opportunity to go to Costa Rica, but the catch is it’s an eco-trip and she has to be ‘off the grid’. She’ll have a photographer with her (Adam) but she will not have her phone *gasp* or access to any social media. Although that part sounds a little crazy, she can’t pass this opportunity up.

Adam is a bit more serious than Camille. He’s a photographer, and he isn’t sure about taking a job with Fashion Forward (it’s not his thing), but it’s a great opportunity and he loves adventure. So he goes. Camille and Adam but heads a bit when they first meet. Adam has these preconceived notions about who Camille is and what she likes. Slowly but surely, he starts to see the real her.

I love books where the H/h don’t get along at first but slowly start to come around. Camille and Adam go from tolerating each other, to friends, then to more. And as much as I loved the romance aspect of the book and their relationship, I really loved watching Camille’s journey more. I loved her growth and her sense of adventure!

I love Jillian Dodd’s writing. I was hooked on her YA when I read the first KC story. This is her daughters debut novel. Can I just say how much I love that the two of them wrote this book together? The flow of the story was fantastic and I couldn’t tell who wrote what- I love that in a co-written book. Also, they get kudos from me for bringing awareness to some environmental things. After reading this, I want to take an eco-trip!

If you’re looking for a fun YA read that will keep a smile on your face, grab Girl off the Grid!

CAMILLE
The sound of a door closing wakes me up. I watch Adam come out of his cabana, walk down the steps, and into the sand. He’s shirtless, wearing just a pair of shorts with a towel thrown over one shoulder. I consider saying something, but don’t. I’m too tired to hold a conversation.
As I lie my head back on the hammock, I notice out of the corner of my eye that Adam has walked down to the water.
I wonder what he’s doing when all of a sudden he starts stripping off his shorts.
Oh, my gosh!
Before I can look away, his shorts hit the sand, revealing his naked backside. I need to get out of here. If he sees me he’ll think I was spying on him, or worse—checking him out. But somehow I get tangled up in the stupid hammock and flip myself right into the sand, landing with a thud.
He turns toward the noise, but thankfully it is dark, and I don’t think he can see me.
Actually, I know he can’t see me, because if he did, he’d totally come up here and give me crap.
I flatten myself into the sand and don’t move. Adam finally turns back toward the ocean and dives out into the water. While he’s swimming, I army crawl as quickly and quietly as possible back to my cabana. When I get to the stairs, I stand up which causes them to creak. Crap! I drop to the ground again, squatting low and hiding behind the porch rail. Then I stand fully, dart inside, and move to the window. I slide the little curtain out of the way and peek through.
I can barely make out Adam’s form floating lazily in the dark water. And I can’t help but think about how he’s out there naked.
I throw myself dramatically on the bed, realizing too late that I’m covered in sand. I go into the bathroom, take off my clothes, shake them out, and then put on my pajamas.
I brush the sand off my sheets and try to go to sleep, but I can’t. So I grab my video camera and do my video blog for today.
“It’s day two in Costa Rica. Today was truly amazing, and I wish all my Effortless Girls were here experiencing it alongside me. Actually, that’s a lie. Honestly, I’m really homesick.” A tear escapes my eye. “And I don’t mean to sound crazy, but I have no one here to talk to and all I can think about is calling home. I know, pretty pathetic, right? It’s just hard when you feel out of place. I wish Adam, my photographer, who is pretty nice when he’s not annoying, wasn’t such a pain. He thinks he knows everything about everything. Well, he sort of does. I mean, I spent a lot of time doing research for this trip but nothing compares to the real thing. And Adam, yes, that’s his name, like from the bible. And it kind of fits, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Get it? Adam and Eve, the apple?” I let out a maniacal laugh. “It’s quite possible I am a little delirious from lack of sleep. What I mean is that Adam’s dad is a world-renowned photographer, and Adam is following in his footsteps. He’s actually lived a pretty interesting life. Much different than me growing up on the Upper West Side of New York. His mom is an anthropologist and Adam has lived with indigenous people before, so he was actually a good fit for this trip.
“And speaking of the do-gooder, this morning when I jumped into the shower I was shocked to discover there was no hot water. Of course, Adam ran into my room when I screamed. Thank goodness I was able to mostly cover myself up with a towel that was barely bigger than a hand towel. And guess what he’s out doing right now? He’s swimming naked in the ocean! And that’s really why I can’t sleep. Who could sleep with that going on?” I hear the sound of Adam softly whistling a tune from outside. “Crap. I have to go! He’s back and I don’t want him to know I know he was out there! Bye!”

The Unrequited by @SaffronAKent - COVER REVEAL @givemebooksblog

Title: The Unrequited
Author: Saffron A. Kent
Genre: Contemporary/Erotic Romance
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs
Release Date: July 13, 2017

Blurb

Layla Robinson is not crazy. She is suffering from unrequited love. But it’s time to move on. No more stalking, no more obsessive calling.

What she needs is a distraction. The blue-eyed guy she keeps seeing around campus could be a great one—only he is the new poetry professor—the married poetry professor.

Thomas Abrams is a stereotypical artist—rude, arrogant, and broody—but his glares and taunts don’t scare Layla. She might be bad at poetry, but she is good at reading between the lines. Beneath his prickly façade, Thomas is lonely, and Layla wants to know why. Obsessively.

Sometimes you do get what you want. Sometimes you end up in the storage room of a bar with your professor and you kiss him. Sometimes he kisses you back like the world is ending and he will never get to kiss you again. He kisses you until you forget the years of unrequited love; you forget all the rules, and you dare to reach for something that is not yours.

NOTE: Please be aware that this book deals with sensitive topics like cheating and death. 18+ Only.

Excerpt

I’m hit by a storm of desire to kiss him better. It’s a tornado, an avalanche in my body, and in one breathless moment, I decide to go for it. It’s okay. I can take the blame for it later.

I break the rules and reach up and kiss him. A feathery peck on his plump lips, it’s a kiss of solidarity, a kiss that intends to tell him I understand—but one isn’t enough. It only manages to ratchet up my lust. So I give him another, this time on the corner of his mouth, and then another one on his jaw.

It’s not enough, these small, barely-there touches. I want more, but I won’t take it. I’ll be good; I’ll only give.

Abruptly, he fists my curls and stops me. I look at him fearfully, ready to apologize—not for the kiss, but for being the kisser. His gaze reflects passion, stark, raving need, and I shiver, despite wearing layers and sweating with his heat.

“Are you trying to kiss me, Layla?” he rasps, flexing his fingers on my makeshift ponytail.

He couldn’t tell? Blush rises to the surface and I know I’m glowing like a neon sign. Swallowing, I nod. “Yes.”

He inches closer to me, still not touching—as impossible as that is—but infinitely closer. “You want to kiss me, Miss Robinson, you do it right.”

Oh God, does he have to call me that? Now, here? My spine arches on its own and my heavy tits graze the contours of his shuddering chest.

“H-How?” I ask innocently, belying the daring action of my body. His stern, professor-y voice is doing things to me, making me wild, uncontrolled.

For a second, he’s silent, just watching. I’m afraid he’ll back out from whatever this is, whatever insanity we’re about to commit—but then I sense the shift in the liquor-laced air as he opens his mouth and growls, “Like this.”

Author Bio

Writer of bad romances. Coffee Addict. White Russian Drinker. Imaginary Ballet Dancer and poetess. Aspiring Lana Del Ray of the book world.

I'm a big believer in love (obviously). I believe in happily ever after, the butterflies and the tingling. But I also believe in edgy, rough and gutsy kind of love. I believe in pushing the boundaries, darker (sometimes morally ambiguous) emotions and imperfections.

The kind of love I write about is flawed just like my characters. And I hope by the end of it, you'll come to root for them just as much as me. Because love, no matter where it comes from, is always pure and beautiful.

Michelle A. Valentine always writes amazing rock star reads, and I absolutely love the spin she put on Love, Sex, Music. Emotional, sexy, and forbidden- this book hit the spot for me!

Laz is trying to make a comeback. You see, Lazarus Rawlings made some poor choices in his past and went from being in the rock-n-roll life as a performer and producer, to being out of the world. He’s got a plan though. He’s going to put together an amazing group to get his career back. An all girls group. Laz has an eye for talent, and he has a second chance here. He only has one rule… stay away from the girls. Do not get involved… should be easy, right?

The last thing Drea plans to do is join a music group. She’s not the strongest dancer (even though her voice is to die for) and she doesn’t like the spot light, but when her sister Candace gets scouted for Laz’s group and he insists Drea comes along, she does. Drea’s life has not been easy. She is a hard worker and a good person, but she has a past. One that makes her even more hesitant to be in the spot light. But that’s all about to change, as she becomes the lead of Laz’s group.

I love that feeling of reading a book and just feeling the chemistry between two characters jumping off the page. Laz and Drea had that. I felt it from the start and it only grew stronger as the story progressed. Their attraction was forbidden, and they both have a lot to lose, but you can’t deny a connection like that. I just knew the moment they quit fighting it, it would combust. And I was right. Things between them were explosive.

I thought Laz was a fantastic hero, but Drea really stole the show for me in this book. She’s probably my favorite Valentine heroine to date. I loved her courage and strength. She had so much character. I rooted for this couple to be together and I really liked the turn the story took at the end.

Love, Sex, Music is a fantastic rocker romance. It was an enjoyable and entertaining story I would definitely recommend!

Flutter by Olivia Evans Excerpt Reveal

We are so excited to give you a sneak peek into FLUTTER, an all-new romantic/suspense standalone from Olivia Evans #ComingJuly24th

Dylan Walker has spent six years trying to move on from the loss of his girlfriend, Presley Cooper. Motivated by grief and the desire to do for others what he couldn’t do for her, he burns the candle at both ends to make it through medical school. After graduation he moves west, putting as much distance as possible between his past and his present.
Or so he thought.
Unknowingly, Dylan has been set on a path that will destroy everything he thought he knew. All the pain, all the grief, was all for nothing. With the help of an unexpected ally, Dylan must find the answers and save the girl he loves before it’s too late.
Deceit.
Betrayal.
Revenge.
A second chance at love.
But first, he must find a way to make her remember her past. Remember him. Remember everything.

Tears filled Presley’s eyes, and her face reddened. “God, my father’s an asshole.” Dylan nodded. “He is. But we just have to get through the rest of this year, then he’ll no longer have a say about anything. If I could, I’d move you in with me now, but as cool as my family is, they do have their limits. Shacking up isn’t something they’re too keen on. Once we graduate and I get my trust, it won’t matter what he says. I’ll take care of you.” Presley swiped under her eye and shook her head. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’d never ask you to take care of me. I could get a job or something.” Dylan laughed and lifted his hands, cupping her face. “You never would have to ask me to take care of you. Don’t you get it? I want to. I want to do it for the rest of our lives. I know we’re young. We’re going to fight and scream and say hurtful things to each other. But, Presley, I’m not being naïve when I say you’re the only girl for me. I feel you in every part of me. You’re all I’ll ever want. I love you.” Presley nodded and sighed. “Please don’t ever stop romancing the shit out of me. I really fucking love it. I love the butterflies you give me.” “Speaking of butterflies,” Dylan said, reaching into his pocket. “I got you something. It was supposed to be for Valentine’s Day, but after the last twenty-four hours, I thought you could use something to cheer you up. “You cheer me up,” Presley argued with a smile. “Just open it,” he whispered, placing the small blue box in her hand. “What have you done?” she asked, pulling off the lid. A gasp left her lips as her fingers trailed over the necklace inside. “Dylan…” He pulled it from the box, the red and black stones fitted inside the butterfly charm glinting in the early morning sun. “Turn around,” he murmured. Clasping the chain around her neck, he moved in front of her and smiled. “It looks perfect.” Presley nodded, her eyes glassy. “You really do make everything flutter.”
