Blog Tour: Jaded Hearts by Harper Sloan!

jadedhearts_frontcover_loresSigning with Brighthouse Records was supposed to be everything we ever wanted—our better life. Our chance at everything we never had but always wanted. All our dreams would finally come true and we were on top of the world. It was our chance at the happiness we never had in life.

Our every desire was at our fingertips and the power of that feeling was all consuming. But then it took every dream we thought would come true and it slapped us in the face with the cold hard reality.

Dreams were just that…something that floated on the cusp of untouchable, taunting you with every graze of your fingertips before slipping even further away.

Happiness…that feeling is a joke.

In the end it became painfully obvious that each of us would always have each other, but we would forever be alone.

Christy's 4 Star Review:

I am a fan of all things Harper Sloan, so when I heard she was releasing a rock star book, I jumped right in. Jaded Hearts has Chance, Cohen’s friend and roommate from the Hopetown series, and Wrenlee Davenport, the lead singer of Loaded Replay. I loved that Chance got his own story and was excited to read it!

I’m Wrenlee Davenport, lead singer of Loaded Replay. I’ve learned the hard way that plenty of people in the world would love to have a piece of me, but they don’t give one shit about the person behind the voice.

Wrenlee is the face of Loaded Replay, but she’s also a private person. The only people who really know her are her 3 band mates, Wes (her twin brother), Luke, and Jamison. That’s the way it has to be. When you’re a star, people take advantage of you and Wren has had that happen one to many times. Loaded Replay is in need of better security for Wren, so who better to hire than someone ex-military who works for Corps Security? Chance is just the guy for the job.

Chance is a professional and takes his job very seriously, but he can’t control the sparks that fly when he’s around Wren and the connection/chemistry they have. Chance battles some things from his past. He’s concerned about hurting Wren. All he wants to do is protect her, but who can protect her from him?

“You have to protect yourself from me.” The pain in his voice makes me falter on my feet before I move forward two steps and cup his cheeks with my hands. “I don’t want to protect myself from you. I want to give myself to you.”

I loved both Chance and Wren and even though their relationship moved fast, I could really feel the connection between them. For some reason, the fast pace worked with them. Even though it was a bit of insta-love, it honestly didn’t feel that way. Wren was a tough heroine, but she was also sweet and vulnerable deep down. Chance was just the guy she needed. They were honestly a perfect match.

Harper set up a promising series by giving us a great first book, and 3 fabulous band members I’m dying to read about in the coming books. If you’re looking for a sexy, sweet and fun book- take a chance on Jaded Hearts!

Our relationship will never be measured by time, not when it feels like I’ve been working my whole life just to make my way to her.
