Trusting Liam by Molly McAdams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 ‘Good night, Moon’ stars!!!

photo ac8b2356-22fc-49fa-93a5-9db313503bf8_zpscngerwm5.jpgA few years ago I read this book called Taking Chances. It was one of the first books I read that completely gutted me. Ever since then, whenever I read a Molly McAdam’s book I get that nervous feeling. Is she going to do something like that again? Safe to say, I had no tears while reading Trusting Liam. The only time I felt a little teary is when there was reminiscing about Chase. You can read this book as a stand alone, but if you’ve read Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies, you’ll probably connect with the story a bit more since  you’ll know a lot of the secondary characters.

Kennedy Ryan is the daughter of Kash and Rachel Ryan. She and her twin sister are moving all the way to California due to some complications with her dad’s job. It’s a new start for her and even though her sister is bent out of shape about the move, Kennedy is okay with it. That is until she meets Liam Taylor. Or see’s him again… Liam is the guy she met in Vegas over a year ago. The guy she hasn’t forgotten in a full year. A man she never thought she’d see again.

Add in the fact that she is his bosses niece and is now working at his Dad’s gym… it’s just meant to be. Liam never thought he’d find this special girl again, but now that he has, he is more determined than ever that he’ll never let her go. If only things from the past could stay in the past… Kennedy has secrets. Her past isn’t what either of them thought it was. And it’s about to come all out in the open.

I liked Kennedy, but I didn’t connect with her as much as I wish I would have. I understood why she did what she did towards the end… but her choices lost a lot of points with me. Liam was great- (view spoiler). It was cool to get to see Brandon and I LOVED getting so much of his friend, Brian. All his scenes just made me smile and laugh. Such a funny guy. Kennedy’s sister Kira- she was my least favorite character of the story. I just wanted to slap her most of the book.

It held my attention. She does a great job writing NA. I like her style. Even though Kennedy irked me at times, I did see a lot of growth in her character and I like that. People aren’t perfect. They make mistakes. I like that Kennedy learned from hers and grew from them. Even though this had a few issues for me, it was still a solid 4 star read. I would recommend it to Molly fans.

Excerpt:
"Trying not to wake him, I slowly slid out from under his arm and off the bed to search for my clothes. Once I was dressed, I told myself to just leave, but I couldn’t help it—I turned to look at him in the light. I needed to be sure I hadn’t made him up.

The images from last night tore through my mind again when I saw the large, tattooed arm resting where my body had just been. The muscles were well defined even relaxed, and the face had a boyish charm now that he was asleep. Such a difference from the predatory stare and knowing smirk I kept seeing in my mind. Before I could stop myself, I gently ran my fingers through his dirty-blond hair that, now in the sunlight, I could see had a red tint to it. And I knew if he opened them, those arctic blue eyes would once again captivate me.

But I couldn’t risk that.

I’d already stayed too long; I’d already made a mistake with him. Drunken one-night stands weren’t my thing. Drunken one-night stands with strangers in Vegas were even worse.
Straightening, I turned and walked quietly from the room."-- Molly McAdams, Trusting Liam

About the Author:
mollyMolly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
